The People's Committee of Da Nang held a ceremony on Thursday to technically open the Quang Da Bridge to traffic.

In attendance at the ceremony were Chairman of the People's Committee of the city Le Trung Chinh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Nam Province Le Van Dung, and representatives of some departments and agencies of the two localities.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Le Trung Chinh informed that work started on the project on building Quang Da Bridge and its approach roads in December 2023. The construction cost of the project came from the budgets of the two localities.

He also highlighted the important political and social significance of the project, serving as a symbol of solidarity and affection between Da Nang and Quang Nam Province.

He added that the new bridge connected traffic between Hoa Vang District, Da Nang, and Dien Ban Town, Quang Nam Province, thereby gradually completing the traffic network, and promoting the socio-economic development.

Despite many difficulties during the 15-month construction period, the project finished as scheduled, ensuring quality and safety and meeting the conditions for traffic opening on the entire route, thanks to a high sense of responsibility, and close direction from leaders at all levels, great determination from the construction unit and active support from local people, Mr. Chinh noted.

Chairman Chinh highly commended the Management Board of Construction and Investment Projects for Traffic and Agriculture Works, together with relevant departments, design consultants, and contractors, for their great efforts in ensuring progress and safety of the project.

He also thanked local authorities for their active coordination, and households and units affected by the project during the construction process so that the project can be completed on schedule, bringing common benefits to the community.

He remarked today's technical traffic opening was an important step that opened up many new development opportunities. However, he stressed the need for relevant units to maintain the maintenance and repair of the bridge to ensure long-term safety and sustainability.

Construction began on December 14, 2023 on Quang Da Bridge and its approach roads. The VND 274,787 billion project has a total road and bridge length of more than 1.4km, of which the bridge section is 204m long and 22m wide, whilst the approach roads at both ends of the bridge are more than 1.2km long with the starting point (Km0+00) intersecting with National Highway 14B at Km31+087 in Hoa Khuong Commune, Hoa Vang District, Da Nang, and the end point (Km1+408) connecting with the Northern Ring Road project in Dien Tien Commune, Dien Ban Town, Quang Nam Province with a cross-section of the approach road on the Da Nang side being 34m wide and the approach road on the Quang Nam side being 27m wide.
