Da Nang increasingly attractive to int'l tourists
Da Nang tourism is showing its increasing appeal to international tourists. In the first 3 months of 2025, the total number of guests served by accommodation establishments across the city was an estimate of 2,537.8 million, up 19.2%, 1,268.3 million of which were foreigners, up 42.1% compared to 2024.
The information was released by the Da Nang Department of Finance at the press conference for the first quarter of 2025 held by the municipal People's Committee on Friday morning.

Thanks to the great attention and active support of the Central Government, the strong leadership and direction of the city's leaders, and the participation of the entire political system, the city achieved important and positive results. The city's GRDP between January and March increased by 11.36%. In particular, the added value of the service sector saw a 10.07% surge, the industrial and construction sector 17.6%, the agro-forestry-fishery sector 2.61%, and product taxes minus product subsidies 10.82%, the highest increase over the past 5 years.
The city’s GRDP growth rate ranked 4th out of the 63 provinces and cities nationwide. The scale of the local economy in the first quarter of 2025 at current prices reached over VND 38,935 billion, expanding by VND 5,213 billion in comparison with the same period in 2024.
Tourism activities continued to develop strongly, as activities and events were continuously organised, contributing to creating a vibrant and fresh atmosphere and attracting a large number of domestic and international tourists to the city.
In particular, a series of events was successfully organised in the city to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Da Nang, including the exhibition "Da Nang - 50 years of Development and Integration", a special art programme, and fireworks displays.

During the January - March period, the total number of guests served by accommodation establishments citywide was estimated at more than 2,537.8 million, a rise of 19.2% over the same period in 2024. 1,268.3 million of them were foreigners, up 42.1%; whilst the remaining 1,269.5 million were domestic tourists, up 2.7%.
Revenue from accommodation and catering services witnessed a 21.1% year-on-year increase to hit an estimate of VND7,393 billion, and that from tourism services (after deducting expenses) stood at VND839 billion, up 20%.
The city attracted VND14,655.1 billion in domestic investment capital and US$33.93 million in FDI capital. Of which, the total of investment capital outside industrial, high-tech and information technology parks reached VND8,240.5 billion in domestic capital and US$1.7 million in FDI capital.
The municipal government granted new business registration certificates to 1,004 enterprises, branches and representative offices, with a total registered charter capital of VND3,019.9 billion, down 2.9% in number of enterprises and 10.2% in capital in comparison with the same period in 2024.
The city already allocated 100% of the 2025 public investment capital plan assigned by the Prime Minister under Decision No. 1508/QD-TTg dated December 4, 2024 (VND8,720.597 billion) and the municipal People's Council assigned in Resolution No. 83/NQ-HDND (VND8,744.395 billion).
As of March 31, the disbursement of the public investment capital plan according to the assigned budget for 2025 reached VND963.659 billion, representing 11.1% of the plan assigned by the Prime Minister and 11.02% of the plan assigned by the municipal People's Council. In particular, VND783.659 billion was disbursed for basic construction and VND180 billion for entrusted capital.
In the first quarter of 2025, the city inaugurated and held groundbreaking ceremonies for some projects to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation Day. Included were the Quang Da Bridge and its approach roads; the Software Park No. 2 (phase 1); the newly-upgraded Da Nang Museum; a project to upgrade, renovate and repair historical and cultural relics; a project to upgrade the Hoang Du Khuong Primary School; the March 29 Park; and the project to upgrade the drainage system and put the existing overhead power and telecommunications cables along 4 major downtown streets underground (Phan Chau Trinh, Le Loi, Hoang Dieu and Ong Ich Khiem).
