With love for nature, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thien Thu in Son Tra District often takes her family to visit tourist attractions in the mountains and forests of Hoa Bac Commune on weekends. Her destination this time is Leaf Village & Farm in the Nam My village area, which has just come into operation. According to Ms. Thu, tourist attractions in Hoa Bac have in common with the cool air, lots of trees, flowers and leaves; along with outdoor activities such as exploring farms, planting trees, enjoying clean and organic agricultural products.

Recently, to meet the needs of tourists staying overnight, many tourist attractions have built spacious and modern rooms. “The air in Hoa Bac is fresh and cool; it is an ideal stopover for those who want to temporarily escape the hustle and bustle of urban life. Currently, visitors here are people from the Da Nang urban area and neighbouring areas travelling in groups of friends and families. On summer weekends, it is very difficult to book overnight stays at tourist attractions,” Ms. Thu shared.

After Tet, the weather is favourable and it is also the period when tourist attractions in the area actively deploy many products to serve tourists. Mr. Le Quoc Hien, the owner of Nam Yen Valley Grape Garden, said that grapes are the garden's main product. Visitors can visit, check-in, take photos and experience grape picking in the garden. In addition to grapes, this year, the garden owner has planted passion fruit to create coverage and cool the corridors. For the perennial land, the red-fleshed jackfruit trees with yellow fibers are grown entirely with organics for delicious fruit.

Visitors can experience and enjoy the buffet service of leaf-wrapped cakes and fresh wine. Meanwhile, Mr. A Lang Nhu, the Secretary of the Gian Bi Village Party Cell, said that from the end of 2024, he boldly invested in upgrading the entire homestay area. At the same time, two more households contributed more than VND50 million, bringing an additional 2,000m2 of garden land to participate in the model, increasing the model area to 6,000m2. On April 19, Gian Bi Village, Ta Lang with more than 300 Co Tu households will establish the Community-based Ecotourism Cooperative that is scheduled to open its doors to welcome tourists this summer.

“The Community-based Ecotourism Cooperative was originally a community ecotourism group but has a larger scale and legal status as well as increased the initiative of its members when participating. Currently, there are 60 members, some of whom have contributed capital whilst others have donated land... After its establishment, the cooperative will develop many tourism development plans in the coming time, especially for this summer. First of all, the organisation of markets on Saturdays and Sundays will increase the experience for tourists when coming to Hoa Bac and create jobs for people in the villages of Ta Lang and Gian Bi. At the same time, the venue will build a model of experiencing cooking with firewood stoves with ethnic specialties and making traditional wine... Up to now, 500 guests have booked to experience tourism at the unit this summer", said Mr. A Lang Nhu.

According to the Hoa Vang District People's Committee of, Resolution No. 82/NQ-HDND dated December 17, 2021 of the municipal People's Council on the unification of the policy of piloting the developing of tourism services combined with the development of agriculture, forestry, and aquaculture in Hoa Vang District is the legal basis for exploiting the potential of natural ecological advantages and agriculture in this district to develop the tourism economy; is a mechanism to help it integrate trade and services into agricultural, forestry, and fishery production.

Particularly for Hoa Bac, ecological agriculture is associated with vegetable gardens, fruit trees, fields, barns, fish ponds, villages, mountain and forest landscapes, rivers and streams...

Agricultural products are linked with tourism through homestays and tourist attractions in all villages in the area. Up to now, Hoa Bac has 21 tourist venues, including 5 eco-tourism, 16 community-based tourism venues and accommodations. The average monthly revenue of each tourist site is 40 - VND 50 million, creating jobs for local people with an average income of 5 - 6 VND million VND/person per month. Typical venues with strong eco-tourism and community tourism characteristics are gradually becoming attractive places for locals and tourists, creating a diversity of tourism products for Hoa Vang in particular, and Da Nang in general.
