To mark the 88^th anniversary of Viet Nam’s Revolutionary Press Day, the 6^th Da Nang Newspaper Football Tournament is being held at the Tuyen Son Sports Village yesterday and today. 

The event aims to promote sporting spirit as well as strengthen the solidarity between local press agencies and businesses.  This year’s tournament has 6 teams participating, divided into 2 groups.

Group A: Da Nang Newspaper, Xu Quang Football Club (XQFC), and Viet Nam Brewery Company.

Group B: Taxi Tien Sa Company, Journalist Football Club (JFC), and Postal Insurance Company.

Under the competition’s rules, the teams will compete in a round-robin format in the qualifying stages.

On the opening day, there were exciting matches in the qualifiers. 

In Group A, Da Nang Newspaper drew 3-3 against Viet Nam Brewery Company, whilst XQFC notched up an 8-4 win over Viet Nam Brewery Company.

In Group B, Taxi Tien Sa Company beat JFC 6-2, while JFC clinched a 5-0 win over Postal Insurance Company.

This morning, 14 June, the matches are Da Nang Newspaper v XQFC, and Postal Insurance Company v Taxi Tien Sa Company.  The third and fourth-place play off and the final take place this afternoon.
