Best works of international phototographers receive awards
The awards ceremony for the 2013 International Artistic Photo Contest took place in Ha Noi’s Temple of Literature on Sunday.
The event was co-organised by the Viet Nam Association of Photographic Artists (VAPA) and the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP).
The 48 best photos from 24 domestic and 24 international photographers were awarded medals at the event. These works featured portraits, nature, tourism, and free-style photos.
Among the domestic gold medal prize winners from this contest, reporter Dang Van No from the Da Nang Newspaper received an award in the portrait category for his work entitled “Em Be Cotu” (A Co Tu Ethnic Minority Girl).
The President of the VAPA, photographer Vu Quoc Khanh, said that this year’s entries were diverse and reflected the typical cultural and daily lives of their countries. This has helped to promote the images, people and cultural identities of contestants’ countries to international friends, as well as building friendships and developing mutual understanding between participating countries.
