SHB Da Nang yesterday fought back twice from behind to convincingly defeat third-placed Thanh Hoa 4-2 in a dramatic match at the Chi Lang Stadium.

Taking advantage of their strongest possible squad, Thanh Hoa took control of the game from the beginning, and their dominance paid off in the 4th minute when Le Duc Tuan opened the scoring.  However, two minutes later, SHB DN’s striker Ho Ngoc Thang levelled the game with a cool header.

In the 19th minute, naturalised player Le Van Tan’s deflected shot increased the score to 2-1 for the visitors.  Then, thanks to Vo Huy Toan’s accurate shot, SHB DN again equalised in the 40th minute.

In the 56th minute, SHB DN’s striker Bernardo scored with a downward header from near the penalty spot, and the home side took the lead for the first time.  Then, in second-half stoppage time, a penalty kick was awarded to SHB DN after Thanh Hoa’s goalkeeper To Vinh Loi tried to prevent a shot by SHB DN’s Nguyen Vu Phong by holding his legs.  The penalty was successfully converted by striker Bernardo to give his team a dramatic 4-2 win.

This win not only helps SHB DN climb back to 4th place in the V-League, but it will also reduce the pressure on the players when they meet An Giang at home on 15 June.
