SHB DN fight back to beat second-placed Ha Noi T&T
SHB Da Nang beat Ha Noi T&T 2-1 in an exciting match at the Chi Lang Stadium yesterday.
Taking advantage of their strongest possible squad, HN T&T took control of the game from the beginning, and their dominance paid off in the 18th minute when midfielder Hector opened the scoring.
In the second half, SHB DN took the initiative, making continuous and varied attacks to put pressure on their rivals. In the 54th minute, Ha Minh Tuan’s free-kick unfortunately struck the post, but four minutes later SHB DN’s striker Matias levelled the game with a cool header. After only 3 more minutes, midfielder Vu Phong's free kick from inside the penalty area gave the home team the 2-1 win.

In the other matches, Binh Duong were crowned V-league Champions 2014 after defeating Dong Tam Long An 3-1 at the Tan An Stadium, even though they still have one game left to play. They became the first team to win the league three times - their previous titles were in 2007 and 2008. The new champions have taken 48 points from their 21 matches, 4 points more than their closest opponents, HN T&T, who are now guaranteed to finish as runners up.
Thanh Hoa remain in 3rd place with 40 points after their 1-0 home win over An Giang, and SHB DN still lie in 4th place on 38 with only 1 game left for all the teams. SHB DN’s final match is away to the newly crowned champions Binh Duong on Sunday 10 August at 4.00pm, whilst at the same time Thanh Hoa will be playing away at HN T&T. If Thanh Hoa do not win, then a win for SHB DN would see them finishing the season in 3rd place.
