The 2014 Open Traditional Boat Race for the VTV Da Nang Branch Cup took place on the Han River on Tuesday morning.  There were 7 men’s teams from Nai Hien Dong, Tho Quang, Lien Chieu 1 and 2, Hoa Vang, Nam Phuoc and Dong Nghe Boat Racing Club, and 7 ladies’ teams from Hai Chau, Thanh Khe, Son Tra, Cam Le, Ngu Hanh Son, Duy Xuyen and Nam Phuoc. 

The race route was from beneath the Han River Swing Bridge to VTV’s headquarters and back, with the men’s teams completing 3 laps, equivalent to 7.5km, and the ladies’ teams completing just 2.

In the ladies’ category, Hai Chau won the first prize, with Thanh Khe second and Cam Le third.  As for the men’s teams, Nai Hien Dong took first place, whilst Lien Chieu 2 came second and Cam Le finished third.  In addition, Nai Hien Dong and Hai Chau received fair play awards.
