Matches in the 1^st round of Viet Nam’s top-tier V-League 2015 took place at stadiums across the country on Sunday 4 January.

SHB Da Nang disappointed their fans by losing 1-2 to Thanh Hoa (TH) at the Thanh Hoa Stadium. 

Despite taking control of the game from the beginning, SHB DN’s players did not create any genuine scoring chances until the 51^st minute when new Spanish striker Gomez beat the offside-trap to open the scoring for the visitors.

In the 54^th minute, Gomez had another shot at goal but, unfortunately, it was saved by TH’s goalkeeper Vinh Loi.  One minute later , Vinh Loi again made his mark in the game by saving a penalty shot from SHB DN's Minh Tam.

In the 66^th minute, TH’s striker Hoang Dinh Tung sent a powerful header directly into the goal to level the game at 1-1.  Then, in the 79^th minute, midfielder Cao Sy Cuong scored after latching on to an accurate pass from striker Le Van Tan, giving his team a convincing 2-1 win.

In other matches, Can Tho were held to a goalless draw at home by Quang Nam, whilst Song Lam Nghe An suffered a 0-3 defeat to Hai Phong at Vinh City’s stadium.

Binh Duong had an easy 6-1 home win over Dong Thap, while Dong Nai were beaten at home 2-0 by Quang Ninh.  Ha Noi T&T managed to draw 1-1 at home to Long An, and Hoang Anh Gia Lai defeated Khanh Hoa 4-2 at the Pleiku Stadium.

SHB DN’s next match is at 4.30pm on Sunday 11 January, at home to Song Lam Nghe An.
