An exhibit running in Hue City features works created by 40 Thai artists that accentuate the development of Southeast Asia over 20 years.

The exhibit – “ASEAN Way: Show Your I.D. and Sign Here. Please!” is taking place until January 30 on the 2^nd Floor of the New Space Arts Foundation, located at 15 Le Loi Street, Hue City in Thua Thien-Hue Province.

The exhibition features 50 works authored by 40 artists from Thailand’s Silpakorn University, including one video art work, 32 paintings, and several sculptures and installation works.

Artist Phan Thanh Binh, president of The College of Arts under Hue University, observed that the artworks, which feature a wide array of topic matters and reflect the vivid fusion and interaction of sounds, images and motion, are indicative of the Thai artists’ equal attention to both academic values and down-to-earth beauty.

The pieces are also brilliantly reflective of the ASEAN countries’ motions in socio-economic, cultural, artistic and political areas in the past 20 years.

ASEAN stands for Association of Southeast Asian Nations, which is a political and economic organization including Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Viet Nam.

After closing on January 30, the exhibition, jointly organized by New Space Arts Foundation, The College of Arts, and Silpakorn University, will be taken to Ho Chi Minh City in March.
