After gaining their first point of the season in their 1-1 draw against Ha Noi T&T last Wednesday, SHB Da Nang once more disappointed their fans with a 1-0 away loss to Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) on Sunday.

HAGL made a confident start and missed good chances in the 7th, 11th and 40th minutes.

In the 58th minute they were awarded a penalty after SHB DN’s goalkeeper Le Van Hung tried to prevent a shot by HAGL’s striker Cong Phuong in the penalty area.  The penalty kick was successfully converted by Montenegrin striker Zdravko to open the scoring.

In the 76th minute, SHB DN’s striker Gomez had a chance to level the score, but his header struck the post.  In the end, HAGL hung on to win the match and SHB DN remain rooted to the bottom of the table.

In Sunday’s other matches, Thanh Hoa defeated Ha Noi T&T 2-1 at home, whilst QNK Quang Nam beat Dong Nai 3-1 at the Tam Ky Stadium.  Dong Tam Long An had a 3-0 home win over Dong Thap, and Khanh Hoa managed a 2-2 home draw against Song Lam Nghe An.

Binh Duong ended their 4-match unbeaten run with a 1-2 home defeat to Quang Ninh.  The loss resulted in Binh Duong losing their top position to Hai Phong, who secured their 4th win in a row with a 4-2 home win over Can Tho.

SHB DN’s next game is another tough one – at home on Sunday to new leaders Hai Phong.
