Various interesting events for Spring 2015

The Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has announced a wide range of fascinating cultural events to be held across the city over the first 4 months of this year.

The Spring Flower Festival and the Tet flower market will take place in February at the 29 March Park and the 29 March Square on 2 September Street respectively.

From 10.00pm to midnight on 18 February (Lunar New Year's Eve), a musical performance to welcome in the Tet Festival will be organised on Tran Hung Dao Street.

Also on Lunar New Year's Eve, 4 spectacular fireworks displays will be set off at midnight from the Nguyen Van Troi Bridge, the Ngu Hanh Son District Arena, the vacant land area in front of the Administrative Centre, and the Hoa Vang District’s monument.

A street music performance to welcome the new lunar year will take place on the evening of 23 February (the 5th day of the 1st lunar month) on the Bach Dang Street riverside walk.

An artistic talent competition entitled “Spring and Youth” will be held at the 29 March Park on the evening of 24 February (the 6th day of the 1st lunar month).

Between 17 and 26 February, numerous famous foreign and Vietnamese films will be screened at the Le Do Cinema, 46 Tran Phu Street.  During the period, the Cinema and Film Distribution Centre’s mobile team will show the films at local military units and schools, as well as in remote areas.

Some traditional Vietnamese musical performances will be held at the Nguyen Hien Dinh Tuong Theatre from 21 - 28 February (between the 3rd and 10th days of the 1st lunar month).

To mark the 40th anniversary of the liberation of Da Nang, some events will take place at the Museum of Da Nang on 26 March.  There will be a seminar and a film screening, both entitled “50 Years - Events and Witnesses”, along with 2 photo exhibitions themed “Urban Movement in Da Nang during a Resistance War against the US” and “Evidence of the US War in Viet Nam’s Southern Region Makes its Debut”.  Also on the same day, there will be a talk about historical events at the local relic sites. 

Also to mark this occasion, a solemn meeting will take place at the Trung Vuong Theatre on 28 March, and on the same day a large-scale arts programme will be held at the Chi Lang Stadium.

A special street music performance will be organised on the evening of 29 March on the Bach Dang Street riverside walk.

A singing contest entitled “Tieng Hat Mai Xanh” (Green Singing) will be held on the eastern side of the Rong (Dragon) Bridge between 25 and 28 March.

On 28 and 29 April, the 2015 Da Nang International Fireworks Competition (DIFC 2015) will take place with the theme “Symphony of Colours”.  The competing teams come from five continents.  They are Fireworks for Africa (South Africa), Pyrotecnico (USA), Howard and Son Fireworks (Australia), Surex Firma Rodzinna (Poland), and the host team Da Nang-Viet Nam.  During the period, there will be a series of support activities for the DIFC 2015 on the western side of the Han River Bridge.

From 24 - 27 April, the Da Nang International Lighting and Visual Arts Contest (DILVAC) will be held on Bach Dang Street.
