This is the first time that Surex Fima Rodzinna (Poland) has participated in this competition.  The team is now Europe’s leading fireworks company, and it has won numerous awards at international fireworks display competitions.

The other new participant is Fireworks for Africa (South Africa) which thrilled the audience with its spectacular fireworks performances at the FIFA World Cup 2010.  Having been crowned champions at many international competitions,  Fireworks for Africa is expected to generate a special and innovative performance at DIFC 2015.

Howard & Son Fireworks (Australia) is now one of their country’s most successful fireworks companies. The team has been famous for its wonderful performances at many large-scale international events over recent years.  In particular, they came third at DIFC 2009.

Like Howard & Son Fireworks, this will be the 2nd time that Pyrotechnico (USA) has competed in the competition, having previously come second at DIFC 2010.

The host team Da Nang-Viet Nam has participated in the event 6 times.  It has always left a good impression on domestic and foreign viewers with its fascinating performances at the previous competitions.

Under the competition’s rules, each team is required to present a magnificent fireworks performance of between 20 and 22 minutes.

A main grandstand containing over 32,000 seats will be set up across from the performance site at the Da Nang Port.  DIFC 2015 is expected to welcome about 500,000 domestic and foreign tourist arrivals.

During the 2-day event, a number of support activities will be held to attract more visitors to the city.  They will include international cuisine exchanges, a photo exhibition featuring the beauty of the city, a parade of boats decorated with flowers and lights, and the floating of flower garlands on the Han River.   In addition, numerous beach sports events, musical performances, fashion shows and other events will also be held over the festival period.

Also next month, a festival of lights will take place for the first time in the city.  The light shows will be from 18:00 to 22:00 each evening between 24 and 27 April.
