Outstanding contestants in writing contest about labour relations receive awards

The awards ceremony took place on 8 March in Hoi An City for a writing contest entitled “Ensuring the Legal Rights of Workers to Build Harmonious and Sustainable Labour Relations”.

Jointly organised by the Lao Dong (Labour) Newspaper and The Asia Foundation, the contest was officially launched on 1 August.

The organisers received a total of 830 entries from contestants nationwide, 30% of which were written by employees, 65% by cadres from trade union organisations, and the remainder by managers and owners of businesses.

Most of the entries were based on the regulations about ensuring the legitimate rights of workers in order to suggest effective solutions to maintain harmonious labour relations.  In particular, the entries also highlighted the significance of dialogue between employers and employees.

Mr Le Van Huan from the Sung Woo Vina Company in Bac Giang Province won the first prize of 15 million VND.

The second prize of 7 million VND went to Mr Siu Rơma Sarry from the Chu Pah Rubber Company in Gia Lai Province.

The third prize of 3 million VND was given to Mr Nguyen Thuong from the Da Nang Port.

Ms Nguyen Thi Quyen from the Ha Bac Nitrogen Fertilizers and Chemicals Company in Bac Giang Province received the consolation prize of 1 million VND.
