Various fascinating events to celebrate the city's liberation
To mark the 40th anniversary of the liberation of Da Nang (29 March 1975), various cultural events will take place across the city.
Between 22 and 29 March, artistes from the city’s Nguyen Hien Dinh Tuong Theatre will perform a number of traditional Vietnamese musical performances at some local districts.
Local cinema-goers can enjoy Vietnamese films at the Le Do Cinema, 46 Tran Phu Street from now until 30 March. During this period, the Cinema and Film Distribution Centre’s mobile team will screen the films at local military units and schools, as well as in remote areas.
The final round, and the awards ceremony of the singing contest entitled “Tieng Hat Mai Xanh” (Green Singing), will take place at 7.30pm on 26 and 27 March respectively on the eastern side of the Rong (Dragon) Bridge.
At 7.00pm on Friday 27 March, a special street music performance will be held on Bach Dang Street riverside walk.
A celebration of the 40th anniversary of the city's liberation will be organised at the Tien Son Sports Arena from 8.00am - 9.30am on Saturday 28 March.
At 9.00pm on the same day, 15-minute-long fireworks shows will take place at Nguyen Van Troi Bridge, Ngu Hanh Son District’s arena, the Phuong Trang residential area in Lien Chieu District’s Hoa Minh Ward, and a vacant land area in front of the headquarters of the Hoa Vang District Fatherland Front Committee.
Between 8.00pm and 10.00pm on Sunday 29 March, a musical performance to celebrate the city’s liberation will be held at the Tien Son Sports Arena. Also on the evening of the same day, another musical performance entitled “Da Nang 2015 - A New Way” will take place on the eastern side of the Rong (Dragon) Bridge.
