In response to Viet Nam’s Book Day (21 April), the “Bach Dang Book Street” festival will be taking place on the western side of the Han River, opposite the Museum of Cham Sculpture, between 23 and 25 April.

The event will be similar to the one in Ho Chi Minh City in that there will be book display areas with specified subjects.  They are “Tu Hao Vung Dat Hai Chau - Nhung Dau An Lich Su” (Proud of the Land of Hai Chau District - Hallmarks of History) and “Hoang Sa - Truong Sa Trong Long Dan Da Nang” (The Hoang Sa and Truong Sa Archipelagos in the Hearts of Da Nang’s Residents).  In addition, there will be display areas featuring books on education, President Ho Chi Minh's thoughts and his moral example, and culture and arts for school pupils.

There will also be e-book stores, along with many stands introducing new and interesting books released by local publishing houses.

The 3-day event will also feature numerous exciting cultural activities, including the final round of a story telling contest, an exchange programme with famous writers, a fun puzzle game with books presented to the winners, a musical performance, and a book sale at preferential prices.  These activities should help to make the event a truly fascinating reading culture festival in the city.
