The 5 teams competing in DIFC 2015

Teams from South Africa, Poland, Australia, the USA and the host team Da Nang-Viet Nam will compete in the Da Nang International Fireworks Competition (DIFC 2015) on 28 and 29 April.

Themed “Da Nang - Symphony of Colours”, the event will feature spectacular performances by each of the participating teams. 

The teams of South Africa, the USA and Da Nang-Viet Nam will perform on 28 April, whilst the teams of Australia and Poland will deliver their performances the following evening.

1)  Da Nang-Viet Nam - the host team

This team has participated in the event on all the previous 6 occasions and has always impressed the audiences with their fascinating performances.

This year, their performance will highly praise Viet Nam’s beautiful landscapes and its citizens with their indomitable spirit, hospitality, and strong aspirations for global integration.

Remarkable achievements of the Da Nang-Viet Nam team include:

2nd place at the Honda Celebration of Light 2012 in Vancouver, Canada 'Best of' Award at GlobalFest 2014 in Canada

2)  Surex Firma Rodzinna (Poland)

This is the first time that Surex Firma Rodzinna has participated in this competition.  The team is now Europe’s leading fireworks company, and it has been crowned champions at many international competitions.

The team won 1st prize at the following:

European Championship of Fireworks 2013 in Neufeld an der Leitha, Austria

International Fireworks Festival 2012 in Courchevel, France

Monte Carlo International Fireworks Festival 2011 in Monaco

Knokke Heist International Fireworks Competition 2011 in Belgium

Busan International Fireworks Competition 2011 in South Korea

Pyrotechnic Art Festival of Cannes 2010 in France

Sokolov International Fireworks Festival 2009 in the Czech Republic

3)  Howard & Sons Pyrotechnics (Australia)

Howard & Sons Pyrotechnics is now one of their country’s most successful fireworks companies, and it has the creative vision, expertise and passion to design and implement the most imaginative and innovative pyrotechnic concepts for events, no matter what the scale.

The team has been famous for its wonderful performances at many large-scale international events over recent years.  Howard & Sons Pyrotechnics boasts young, talented and creative pyrotechnicians, and they will produce a spectacular display at the forthcoming event.

Remarkable achievements already made by the team are as follows: 

Bronze Jupiter Award and Best Soundtrack Award at the 2011 Montreal International Fireworks Competition, Canada

3rd place at the Da Nang International Fireworks Competition 2009, Viet Nam

Silver Jupiter Award at the Montreal International Fireworks Competition 2008, Canada

1st place at the Malaysia International Fireworks Competition 2007 

Gold Medal at the Monaco International Fireworks Competition 1988

4)  Pyrotecnico (the USA)

Pyrotecnico, whose headquarters are in Atlanta, Georgia, is America’s most creative fireworks display, pyrotechnics and special effects company.  Over recent years, Pyrotecnico have participated in many international fireworks events and have won prizes at competitions worldwide.

Pyrotecnico has been famous for its innovative performances and pyrotechnic technology applications in fireworks displays over the past 120 years.  The team will bring to DIFC 2015 a spectacular fireworks display.

1st place and People's Choice Award at GlobalFest's Trico Homes International Fireworks Festival 2012, Canada

Gold Jupiter Award at L'lnternational Des Feux Loto Quebec 2008, Canada

2nd place at the Da Nang International Fireworks Competition 2010, Viet Nam

5)  Fireworks for Africa (South Africa)

Fireworks for Africa thrilled the audience with its spectacular fireworks performances at the FIFA World Cup 2010 in South Africa, and the team has been crowned champions at many international competitions.  Although Fireworks for Africa has never performed at DIFC before, it is expected to deliver a special and innovative performance.

Remarkable achievements made by the team include:

1st place at the International Vuurwerkfestival Knokke-Heist 2008 in Belgium

1st place at the KFM Symphony of Fire 2006 in Cape Town, South Africa

1st place at Les Grands Feux du Casino du Lac-Laemy, Canada in 2000, 2001 and 2005

1st Place at Les Grands Feux Loto-Quebec, Canada, in 2000 and 2001

2nd place at the International Fireworks Competition 2007 in Hannover, Herrenhausen, Germany

3rd place at the World Fireworks Championships 2001 in San Remo, Italy
