On Monday, the Da Nang People's Committee Vice Chairman cum Head of the organising board of the 2014 municipal Press Awards, Mr Phung Tan Viet, chaired a meeting to choose the winners.

A total of 80 works by local reporters had been submitted to the municipal Journalists' Association.  74 items by 91 entrants were selected in the preliminary round, 11 of which had been written by non-members of the local Journalists' Association.

A total of 27 works by 41 entrants won awards - 8 television programmes, 17 print items, and 2 radio programmes.

The awards ceremony will take place in the city on the occasion of the 8^th Congress of the Da Nang Journalists' Association in the 2015 - 2020 tenure on 17 June.
