The Da Nang Culture, Sport and Tourism Department said Tuong features the national progress which has been attributed to the great efforts made by generations of Quang Nam people. It has been preserved and promoted despite the rapid urbanisation of the city.
Tourists often book tours to see Tuong performances at the city's Nguyen Hien Dinh Theatre during their visits to Da Nang. The theatre now preserves a collection of 204 classical Tuong scripts, written in Han (Chinese) script and Vietnamese ideographic script (Nom), and all published between 1802 and 1845.
