Various cultural and sporting events to celebrate National Day
A wide variety of cultural and sporting activities will be organised across Da Nang to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Viet Nam’s August Revolution (19 August) and its National Day (2 September).
A musical performance entitled ‘For a Peaceful Life’ will be held at 7:00pm on 27 August in the 29 March Square on 2 September street.
At 7.30pm on 29 August, a public art performance, which has ‘Melodies of the Fatherland’ as its theme, will take place in a park near the intersection of Ly Nam De and Tran Hung Dao streets in Son Tra District.
The German Film Festival will take place at the city’s Le Do Cinema, 46 Tran Phu Street from 11 - 13 September and 18 - 20 September, whilst a similar event for Russian films will run at the same venue between 21 and 23 September.
During the period, the Cinema and Film Distribution Centre’s mobile team will also show numerous fascinating films in the city’s more remote areas.

An exhibition featuring outstanding photos from the 2015 South Central Region and Highlands Artistic Photography Festival will be held at the Museum of Da Nang between 27 August and 8 September.
Also to mark these celebrations, the new General Science Library will officially open its doors to the public on 28 August.
The 2015 Da Nang International Marathon (DNIM 2015) will take place in the city on 30 August. This year’s event is expected to attract between 5,000 and 6,000 professional and amateur runners. It will comprise 3 races: a full marathon (42.195km), a half marathon (21.095km), and a 5km run and walk.
The race route will be East Sea Park - Vo Nguyen Giap street - Nguyen Van Thoai street - Tran Thi Ly bridge - 2 September street - Bạc Dang street- 3 February street - Thuan Phuoc bridge - Le Duc Tho street - Hoang Sa street - East Sea Park.
In the morning of 2 September, an open traditional boat race will take place on the Han River. In addition, local residents and visitors will be treated to an exciting and fascinating water-skiing show on the river at 4pm the same day.
Also on 2 September, a street music performance will take place at 7.30pm on the Bach Dang street riverside walk. In addition, local residents and visitors will be treated to a spectacular 15-minute-long fireworks performance at 9.00pm. The fireworks will be set off on barges floating on the Han River in front of the former Han River Port, on the section between the Han and Thuan Phuoc bridges.
