Awards presented for 'My Danang' photo contest
The Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism recently held the awards ceremony for the 2015 Da Nang Tourism Photo Contest, entitled ‘My Danang’, which was held in the city between 24 February and 31 July.
The contest’s organisers received a total of 936 entries from 98 amateur and professional photographers from Viet Nam and abroad.
There was no first prizewinner, but second prizes went to ‘Dem Ba Na’ (Ba Na Hills Resort at Night) by Huynh Van Truyen and ‘Luong Long Vong Nguyet’ (Two Dragons Wishing upon the Moon) by Nguyen Trung Thu. Each of the second prize winners received 15 million VND in cash.
Third place was shared by ‘Niem Vui Tuoi Tre’ (The Joy of Youth) by Nguyen Xuan Duy and ‘Hu Khong’ (Nothingness) by Trinh Thu Nguyet, each receiving 7 million VND.
In addition, ‘Ngay 29-4’ (29 April) by Huynh Van Truyen was judged to be the most outstanding photo in the category 'Events and Festivals'. Meanwhile, ‘Tu Do Giua Dai Ngan’ (Freedom in High Mountain and Thick Forest) by Nguyen Dang De and ‘Banh Kho Me’ (Dried Sesame Seed Cakes) by Le Tho were the most outstanding in the categories of 'Landscapes' and 'Daily Lives of Local Residents' respectively.
An exhibition featuring 41 of the best photos from the contest is being held on Bach Dang Street, opposite the Da Nang branch of VTV until 6 September.
