Fireworks displays announced for 1 and 27 January
Following recent approval from the Da Nang People’s Committee, a spectacular fireworks display will be set off on 1 January 2017 at 9.00pm on a section of the Pham Van Dong Beach near the East Sea Park in Son Tra District’s Phuoc My Ward.

The 12-minute-long fireworks show will be part of the series of activities organised to mark 20 years since the city’s recognition as a centrally-governed city on 1 January 1997.
The show will feature high and low-level fireworks, along with numerous special effects. All the costs of the event will covered by public donations.
In addition, another 4 magnificent fireworks displays to welcome in the 2017 Lunar New Year will take place at midnight on Lunar New Year’s Eve, which falls on 27 January 2017.
The 4 locations will be Nguyen Van Troi Bridge in Hai Chau District, the Ngu Hanh Son District Arena, the Phuong Trang residential area near the Lien Chieu District Administration Centre, and a vacant land area in front of the Hoa Vang District Administration Centre.
The 15-minute-long fireworks shows will each feature high and low-level fireworks. The costs of these shows will be partly funded from the city’s budget, whilst the remainder will be from public donations.
