The refurbishment of a stone monument carved with the words ‘The Le Son Victory’ in Hoa Vang District’s Hoa Tien Commune has been completed at a cost of around 50 million VND.  The money had come from donations from local authorities, organisations, war veterans, and other local generous donors.

The monument was built in early 2001 in commemoration of the victory of revolutionary soldiers from Regiment 803 of Interregional 5 at the French Le Son Military Base on 19 September 1952.  The site was recognised as a city-level historical relic on 1 May 2001.

As part of the city’s activities to celebrate the 63rd anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (7 May), the Hoa Tien Commune War Veterans' Association held an incense-offering ceremony at the site to commemorate the heroic martyrs who laid down their lives for the nation.
