Many valuable artifacts, including stone axes, graters and grinding tables, plus thousands of fragments of pottery have been found at the site.

The archaeologists said that the findings look similar to those found during excavations at the Bau Tram and Bai Ong relic sites in Quang Nam Province.  These artifacts were from the early Sa Huynh culture dating back between 3,000 and 3,500 years.  All of the newly-found artifacts will play a very important role in conducting research into Da Nang’s history and culture, and into the Sa Huynh culture in the central region as a whole.

The Khue Bac communal house relic site was found in 2000 by late Prof Tran Quoc Vuong and some lecturers from the Archeology Faculty of the Ha Noi University of Social Sciences and Humanities.  A year later, lecturers from the University carried out the first excavation and found numerous clay pot-shaped graves and stone and pottery artifacts.

In 2015, a number of valuable artifacts, including stone items, fragments of pottery, pieces of mollusc, and old coins, were found during an excavation of a 100m2 area at the site.
