Midfielder Quoc Phuong opened the scoring for Thanh Hoa in the 14th minute and, after that early goal, Thanh Hoa players played with great confidence and created many chances to score.

However, fourteen minutes later, SHB’s defender Bui Van Long beat his opponent’s offside-trap and levelled the score at 1-1.

Then, in the 69th minute, striker Pape Omar raised the score 2-1 to Thanh Hoa after latching on to an accurate pass from midfielder Van Thang.  Ten minutes later, Van Thang scored the third goal for the home team.

In the 85th minute, SHB’s Brazilian striker Eydison sent a powerful header directly into the goal to narrow the gap at 3-2.

In the other matches, Hoang Anh Gia Lai defeated Binh Duong 2-1, whilst Song Lam Nghe An were held to a 1-1 home draw by Quang Ninh.

Sanna Khanh Hoa were beat 0-3 by Quang Nam at home, and Long An suffered a 2-3 loss to Ho Chi Minh City.  Sai Gon had a 2-1 home win over Can Tho, and Ha Noi beat Hai Phong 2-0 at home.

Thanh Hoa currently top the league with 29 points.  They were followed by Ha Noi FC on 27, and Quang Nam, Sai Gon and Sanna Khanh Hoa all on 23.  SHB DN are in 8th place on 18 points. Can Tho and Long An are the bottom pair, with 8 and 5 points respectively.
