Expats talent contest winners to be announced tonight

On Sunday evening, the ongoing First-ever ‘Da Nang's Expats Got Talent 2017’ contest featured a total of 33 performances by foreigners who are now working and living in Da Nang and its neighbouring localities.

Themed ‘New Year Coming’, the 2-day event is attracting the participation of expats from such foreign countries as the US, France, Russia, Canada, Laos and South Korea.

Last night’s performances showcased various types of arts, including folk or traditional songs of any kind, modern dance, magic tricks and circus acts.  All of contestants represented special cultural characteristics of their home countries. 

At 7.00pm tonight, the wards ceremony of the contest will take place at the city’s Trung Vuong Theatre, 86 Hung Vuong, featuring the best performances out of the total 33 entries.

Winners of the group category will receive a cash-prize of 10 million VND (440 US$), whilst 2 runners-up will take 8 million VND (350US$) each.

As for the individual category, there will be 3 first prizes of 5 million VND (220 US$) each and 5 second prizes of 3 million VND (130 US$) each.

In addition to the cash prizes mentioned above, all winning organisations and individuals will also receive gifts from the contest’s sponsors.  Moreover, the performance deemed most outstanding will be nominated to perform at upcoming cultural and art events in the city.
