SHB DN is expecting to deliver their better performances at Viet Nam’s top-tier V-League which will start on 10 March.

The new head coach of SHB DN, Mr Nguyen Minh Phuong, is now exerting every effort to gain more trust of local fans.
Mr Bui Xuan Hoa, the Chairman of the SHB DN, said 33-year-old top striker Do Merlo, along other outstanding seasoned players, namely Huy Toan and Ho Ngoc Thang, are ready to make their marks in this year’s V-League season.
Furthermore, some of the young players from the local club's youth training programmes are enthusiastically honing their professional skills day by day in a great effort to satisfy the strict requirements of the coaching board and meeting the local fans’ expectations.
Given these the above-mentioned advantage, the city’s club is expected to achieve the best posive results from this year's V-League season.
During last year’s V-League, SHB DN recorded lower-than-expected results due to unexpected injuries of its key players and this has somewhat dashed the team’s hopes. In the end, SHB DN were only in 9th place with 33 points.
Matches in the 1st round of V-League 2018 are scheduled to take place at stadiums across the country on 10 March.
However, SHB DN might face some challenges during the first 4 rounds of the league as they will play their tough matches to Than Quang Ninh, and current champions Quang Nam, Khanh Hoa and Sai Gon FC respectively.

On 23 February, the city’s club will leave for Ho Chi Minh City for intensive training courses there in preparation for the upcoming challenging tournament.
SHB DN will play friendly matches against Long An and Ho Chi Minh City. Both these courses and matches are considered to be a good way for coach Minh Phuong to select the best players for his squad.
Priority will be given on choosing 2 ‘warriors’ amongst foreign players who are participating in trial periods.
SHB DN enjoyed a golden period between 2010 and 2012 thanks to the great efforts of such outstanding foreign footballers as Almeida, Molina, Nicolas and Gaston Merlo. These players all came from South American countries, including Brazil and Argentina.
Hopefully, the city’s club will resume its strengths with new vitality and new determination, especially great fighting spirit, in a bid to gain even more success from the new league season.
