Olympic Run Day for Public Health attracts 4,000 runners
Yesterday, the Olympic Run Day for Public Health 2018 took place at Da Nang’s Tien Son Sports Arena.

This year’s event attracted a total of about 4,000 runners, including junior and senior high school pupils, military officers and men, firefighters, along with members from the municipal War Veterans' Association, and those from the city’s unions of Youth, Labour and Women. Participating runners joined a 1km run around the arena.
In his remarks at the event, municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman Nguyen Ngoc Tuan underlined the importance of developing this annual event into a traditional sporting activity amongst local residents. The intention is to raise public awareness about the significance of physical exercise in improving their health and enhancing the quality of their lives.
The event was followed by road races with the participation of a large number of runners from 7 local districts. Under the event’s rules, female and male runners competed in 4km and 7km run respectively.
Cam Le District won the 1st prize in the team category for women, whilst Hoa Vang and Lien Chieu districts came 2nd and 3rd places respectively. Meanwhile, Thanh Khe District was the 1st prize winner in the team category for men, whilst Ngu Hanh Son and Hai Chau District came 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Le Thi Lan Huong from Ngu Hanh Son District came 1st in women's individual category, whilst Nguyen Thi Tuyen from Cam Le District and Phan Thi Lien from Ngu Hanh Son District won the 2nd and 3rd prizes respectively.
As for men’s individual category, the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes, respectively went to Nguyen Minh Tuan from Hai Chau District, and Nguyen Van Thien and Nguyen Van Tin, both from Thanh Khe District.
In the end, Hoa Vang District won the 1st prize in the team category for the city's districts, whilst Cam Le and Lien Chieu districts came 2nd and 3rd respectively.
