Upon their arrivals in Da Nang, members from Martarello (Team Italy) and Vulcan (Team Hong Kong) are now focusing hard on preparing for their performances on the 3^rd night, themed ‘Happiness’, as part of the ongoing Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2018, on Saturday (2 June).

Mr Ermes Martarello, the leader of the Italian team, could not hide his eagerness to come back to Da Nang for this much-waited international-level competition. He and his teammates recalled unforgettable moments of being crowned champions at DIFF 2017.

At this year’s event, the Italian competitors will exert every effort to surpass themselves and gain the best possible display like what they preformed last year.

The Martarello fireworks company was founded in 1921 in Arqua Polesine (Italy). In its early times, the company was only specialised in handmade crackers. Thanks to its ceaseless efforts, Martarello has gradually developed into one of the largest fireworks producers in the world.

Given around 100 years of experience, Martarello is now the most advanced and safest fireworks supplier in Italy. In particular, the Italian team have won numerous notable prizes at many large-scale fireworks competitions worldwide.

Notably, the team brought home the first prizes at DIFF 2017, Le Festival D’art Pyrotechnics Cannes 2015, El Ejido International Fireworks Competion, and the Blanes Santa Ana Festival.

Mr Cindy Ying Sau Vermeulen, the leader of the Hong Kong team, revealed that her team’s upcoming pyrotechnic performance will look like an intriguing movie in a bid to invite the audience to join in a dramatic and romantic journey based on the soundtrack of the popular films over the past 2 decades.

Especially, the team will use a Vietnamese song for their show in order to highlight the Vietnamese identity.

The Hong Kong competitors are eager to compete at DIFF 2018

Founded in 1974, Vulcan is one of the pioneers in the Chinese fireworks industry.

The team consists of highly experienced individuals who are boundlessly passionate of the creation of unconventional fireworks displays that entice both awe and enthusiasm of the audience.

Vulcan has risen to fame in recent years as they have won many outstanding achievements.

Included were the first prizes at the Hannover International Fireworks Competion 2009 in Germany and the Blackpool International Fireworks Competion 2009 in the UK, the second prizes at the Hannover International Fireworks Competion 2010 and the Oman World Fireworks Championship 2010, and the third prize at the L'International des Feux Loto-Québec 2015, also known as the Montreal Fireworks Festival, the most prestigious and largest fireworks festival in the world.

Given their meticulous preparations, hopefully, the display by the Italian and Hong Kong contestants will amaze the viewers with support music perfectly choreographed to innovative imagery, fireworks, and special lighting effects.
