The programme aims to appeal for generous philanthropists to help those in need, including reporters in difficult circumstances.
Also, through the meaningful programme, reporters have the opportunity to meet and exchange their professional skills with one another, as well as show their responsibility towards the community.
Starting from this month, the monthly programme is held on the first Saturday morning of each month. Each cup of coffee or other optional types of beverages is priced at only 50,000 VND, which covers the payment for the drink and financial support for the programme.
In a similar vein, New Hawaii coffee shop- one of the sponsors of the program – has pledged to donate 10% of its revenue during this monthly programme.
Speaking at the launching ceremony of the programme, municipal People’s Committee Standing Vice Chairman Dang Viet Dung highlighted the significance of the programme in creating an ideal rendezvous for local reporters, and appealing for generous donors to help the needy, a move in active response to the city’s landmark ongoing ‘The City of 4 Safe Programmes’.
