City team wins 3 gold, 1 silver and 5 bronze medals at national sports event
A wide range of events of the 8th National Sports Festival are taking place in Ha Noi, and Hoa Binh and Khanh Hoa provinces from 15 November to 10 December.

This year’s festival has more than 7,000 athletes competing in 734 events of 36 sports.
After 4 days of the tennis competition at the Ha Noi Indoor Athletics Arena from 19 - 22 November, tennis players Phan Thi Thanh Binh and Hungarian Vietnamese Fodor Csilla from Da Nang brought home the first gold medal after defeating their rivals from Kien Giang 2-0.
On Thursday, some of the city’s athletes gained positive results.
In particular, rower Pham Thi Hue won a gold medal in the heavyweight women's single sculls event, whilst rowers Pham Chung, Vo Nhu Sang, Doan Dinh Chieu and Bui Quang Huy took a gold medal in the men’s coxless four event.
A silver medal in the women's coxless pair event went to rowers Nguyen Thi Kim Huyen and Nguyen Thị Thu Ha.
In addition, local athletes bagged 5 bronze medals in the heavyweight men’s double sculls, the women’s coxless pair, the men’s doubles tennis, the women’s badminton team, and the men’s handball team.
