City's athletes bag 4 more gold medals at national sports festival
On Wednesday, some athletes from Da Nang claimed more medals at the ongoing 8th National Sports Festival in Ha Noi.
In detail, badminton player Nguyen Thuy Linh bagged the gold in the women’s singles category after defeating her rival Tran Thi Phuong Thuy from Bac Giang Province 2-0.
In the women’s doubles category, Linh and her teammate Nguyen Thi Phuong Ha beat Dinh Thi Phuong Hong and Do Thi Hoai from Thai Binh Province 2-0 to get the gold.
In the women's doubles category, tennis players Fodor Csilla and Phan Thi Thanh Binh took gold after overcoming their opponents Nguyen Thi Be Xuyen and Nguyen Tu Kim Quan of the Military.
In the pencak silat competition, Le Van Toan in the men’s over 95kg category added one more gold medal to the Da Nang team.
Athletes Do Tan Truong and Nguyen Thanh Tung came second and third respectively in the men’s hammer throw.
Diver Nguyen Thi Hang earned the silver medal in the women’s 400m scuba diving event.
Currently, the team from Da Nang ranked 4th out of 65 paticipating teams in the medal table with 11 gold, 8 silver and 18 bronze medals.
