City's team currently secure 4th place at national sports festival
On Thursday, the Da Nang team claimed more medals at the ongoing 8th National Sports Festival in Ha Noi.
In detail, tennis player Fodor Csilla was crowned champions and took the gold in the internal final of the women’s singles category after beating her teammate Phan Thi Thanh Binh.
In the canoeing competition, the men’s team, comprising Hien Nam, Ykhoer Nie, Pham Thanh Liem, and Tran Thanh Cuong, earned the gold in the C4-500m event.
Another male team with Vo Duy Thanh, Tang Van Nhat, Nguyen Van Tien and Tang Van Phap grabbed the bronze in the K4-500m event.
The ladies’ relay team, consisting of Hoang Thi Tam, Nguyen Thi Hang, Nguyen Hoai Thuong and Nguyen Thi Lan Vy, won the gold in the 200m using snorkels and flippers relay event.
As for the traditional martial arts competition, fighter Tran Quang Vu in the men’s 55-60kg category claimed the silver in the finals.
Diver Nguyen Duy Anh and discus thrower Tran Quang Huy added 2 bronze medals to the Da Nang team.
In addition, the city’s men football team had an easy 4-0 win over Ho Chi Minh City to officially enter the semi-finals.
Currently, the team from Da Nang ranked 4th out of 65 paticipating teams in the medal table with 14 gold, 11 silver and 21 bronze medals.
Ha Noi now ranks top of the participating teams with 61 gold, 61 silver and 47 bronze medals.
Ho Chi Minh City lie in the second place with 41 gold medals, 38 silver and 38 bronze.
