In the 12^th day of the ongoing 8^th National Sports Festival on Monday, the Da Nang ladies’ relay team, consisting of Hoang Thi Tam, Nguyen Thi Hang, Nguyen Hoai Thuong and Nguyen Thi Lan Vy, took a silver medal in the 100m using snorkels and flippers relay event.

Also, Nguyen Duy Anh from the city grabbed a bronze medal in the men’s 100m scuba diving event.

In the canoeing competition, the men’s team from Da Nang, comprising Hien Nam, Ykhoer Nie, Pham Thanh Liem, and Tran Thanh Cuong, along with 2 athletes Nguyen Van Tien and Vo Duy Thanh, plus Nguyen Quoc Huy progressed into the finals of the K4-1,000m, K2-1,000m and K1-1,000m events respectively.

As for the traditional martial arts competition, fighter Nguyen Thi Tan An in the women’s 75kg category and fighter Tran Quang Vu in the men’s 60kg category entered the semi-finals after beating their rivals Nguyen Thi Mai Anh from Bac Giang Province and Can Van Trung from Lam Dong Province respectively.

In the women's doubles and singles categories, local tennis players Fodor Csilla and Phan Thi Thanh Binh earned tickets into the semi-finals.

In addition, the city’s men football team had an easy 4-0 win over Nam Dinh to enter the semi-finals.
