As of the end of 8 January, the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) had topped a list of the 15 most outstanding cultural, sports and tourism events in Viet Nam in 2018 with a total of 10,422 votes.

DIFF 2018, which had ‘The Legend of Bridges’ as its theme, took place in the city from 30 April to 30 June.

Last year’s event featured performances by 8 teams, namely Poland, France, the US, Italy, Hong Kong, Sweden, Portugal, and the host Da Nang-Viet Nam.

During the 2-month-long festival, the seaside city welcomed a total of over 1.58 million visitors, up 25.54% against 2017.

In addition to DIFF, some outstanding tourism events received high number of public votes.

Included are the events of Viet Nam ranking 3^rd in the top 10 countries with the highest growth of international tourist arrivals in 2018 according to the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) with 6,848 votes, Viet Nam winning the ‘Asia's Leading Destination’ award at the 2018 World Travel Awards with 6,043 votes, and Viet Nam welcoming 15 million international tourists last year with 6,999 votes.
