Fruiful results gained in sports sector
Da Nang’s sports sector gained numerous significant achievements over last year.

In particular, the city’s team ranked 5th out of 65 participating teams in the medal table with 31 gold, 27 silver and 44 bronze medals at the recent 8th National Sports Festival in Ha Noi.
In addition, athletes brought home a total of 19 gold, 11 silver and 15 bronze medals from international sports competitions.
Deputy Director of the municipal Culture and Sports Department Nguyen Trong Thao emphasised these positive results have been partly attributed to effective and strong support from the municipal authorities through building modern sports facilities, including the Hoa Xuan Sports Complex.
Notably, the complex’s 3-storey Practise House has already put into use in a bid to serve the practice needs of local athletes.
Moreover, many preferential policies for coaches and athletes have been issued.
Thanks to the above-mentioned policies for sports sector, Da Nang is emerging as a magnet for sports talents and investors from both home and abroad.
Mr Hoang Thi Kim Chau, Director of the Bach Dat Manufacturing and Trading Co Ltd, said that she was used to be a handball player, so she wanted to contribute a little effort to promote the development of handball in particular, and the sports sector in general.
Therefore, her company fully covered the travel and accommodation expenses of the city’s handball team at the recent 8th National Sports Festival.
In a similar vein, the Sun Group funded the construction costs of a tennis training centre in the city. Thanks to the new and modern sports facility, local tennis players performed well at the national sports event.
Most notably, tennis players Fodor Csilla and Phan Thi Thanh Binh took gold in the women's doubles category. Fodor Csilla was crowned champions, and took the gold in the internal final of the women’s singles category after beating her teammate Thanh Binh.
Besides, Mr Pham Ngoc Chu, a member of the Hungarian Olympic Committee, plus the BVSC Zugló Swimming Club and the Musegyeter Evezos and Kolonics Gyorgy Központ Wallet Boat Racing Clubs, have regularly provided active and effective support for local underwater sports team.
Thanks to the above-mentioned achievements, the sports sector has played an important role in advertising the beauty of the city and the image of local people to international friends.
