Top Vietnamese tennis player ousted from Vietnam Open
Top Vietnamese tennis player Ly Hoang Nam was knocked out of the Viet Nam Open tennis tournament on 8 January in Da Nang.

Nam won the first set but lost the following two to Sabastian Fanselow, finishing 1-6, 6-1, 6-3 in the second round men’s singles category.
Nam performed well in the first set, winning two break points over world No 321 and tournament No 7 Fanselow, ending the set 6-1 within 30 minutes.
The German Fanselow however came back strongly in the second set to win the first four games. Nam won the next game before losing the next two to Fanselow.
The third set continued with Nam losing two breaks while Fanselow fought strongly to end the set 6-3.
In other matches, No 1 seed Marcel Granollers from Spain came from behind to beat Arthur Rinderknech of France 1-6, 6-4, 6-4. No 2 Matteo Viola (Italy) won 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 over Wishaya Trongcharoenchaikul (Thailand).
Other seeded players, No 3 Sasi Kumar Mukund, No 4 Thai-son Kwiatkowski and No 5 Tsung-Hua Yang, also went through.
In the doubles event, Trinh Linh Giang and Daniel Nguyen lost to Alessandro Bega and Matteo Viola, losing 1-6, 7-6 (4), 6-10.
