City to host Japan Cultural Festival at this weekend
The Japan Cultural Festival will take place at the Museum of Da Nang at 24 Tran Phu on Sunday, 10 March, from 8.30am - 4.30pm.
The event aims to introduce locals and visitors to the distinctive Japanese culture, and strengthen the bilateral friendship relations between Viet Nam and Japan.
Visitors to the event will have the opportunity to see the Japanese community in Da Nang and Quang Nam Province’s Hoi An City demonstrating traditional Japanese tea making, traditional arts of origami (folding paper to make models) and calligraphy, as well as participate in various exciting folk games on Sunday morning.
In the afternoon of the same day, visitors will have a chance to try on traditional Japanese costumes, while a flashmob performance will be staged in the evening of the one-day event.
Since 2012, Da Nang has become a great place for the organisation of the annual Viet Nam-Japan Cultural Exchange Festival.
More than 127 Japanese businesses are operating in Da Nang, while 37 Japanese restaurants have opened in the city. Japan plans to open a Consulate in Da Nang as a way to boost tourism and cultural exchanges between Japan and the central city in the future.
