According to a spokesperson for the municipal Department of Culture and Sports, the preparations for the main stage floating on the Han River were well underway.
Starting from 2 May, the construction of 7 viewing stands which will eventually offer 16,462 ticketed seats will be set up on the eastern bank of the Han River.
Around 17 tonnes of fireworks have been already stored in containers, whilst fire prevention and fighting have been ensured.
In addition to fireworks competitions, a total of 30 support activities will take place on the sidelines of the event, a rise of 3 against last year. The most highlights of these activities will be a national-level flash mob dance contest for students entitled ‘Youth Wave’, and a street carnival show.
Vice Chairman Chinh asked the city’s Border Guards High Command to ensure security and traffic safety on the Han River during firework competition nights.
The Department of Transportation will be responsible for checking vessels, including cruise ships, which are allowed to operate on the river in fireworks competition nights.
