Fascinating cultural activities for 5-day public holiday
During the 5-day holiday break for the National Reunification Day (30 April) and International Labour Day (1 May), a wide range of cultural and entertainment activities will take place across Da Nang.

From 26 April to 1 May, an installation arts space entitled ‘Moon on the Sea’ which is decorated with 100 colourful lanterns and 500 eye-catching pinwheels will be held at the My Khe and Pham Van Dong beaches. This event promises wonderful experience for local residents and visitors.
A fine arts exhibition themed ‘Colours of April’ is taking place at the city’s Fine Arts Museum until 6 May.
Co-organised by the municipal Fine Arts Association and the museum, the event features a total of over 55 outstanding paintings which are made from different kinds of materials by 40 painters from Da Nang and Quang Nam Province.
The displayed items show painters’ special love for their homeland, and the beauty of the land and the people in the central region, and in Viet Nam as a whole.
A street music programme will be organised at the western end of the Rong (Dragon) Bridge, opposite the Museum of Cham Sculpture at between 7.30pm and 9.00pm on 27 April.
During the same time, a section of Tran Hung Dao Street between the Rong (Dragon) Bridge and its intersection with Trieu Viet Vuong Street will become more vibrant and bustling than ever before with an fantastic street parade of live music and dancing.
Co-hosted by the Youth Union Organisation and the Youth Federation in Da Nang, the ‘Weekend Playground’ event will be held at the western end of the Rong (Dragon) Bridge, opposite the Museum of Cham Sculpture, from 7.00pm to 9.00pm on 28 April.
In addition, visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy Tuong street performances by artistes from the Nguyen Hien Dinh Tuong Theatre at the eastern end of the Han River Bridge.
Apart from enjoying impressive Tuong performances, visitors will be introduced to the art of Tuong mask drawing and its dress codes. In addition, they will have the opportunity to have their photos taken in Tuong costumes which will be available for hire at the event.
In the evenings of 27 and 28 April, there will be ‘Bai choi’ (singing while acting as playing cards) performances on the pavement of Tran Hung Dao at the eastern end of the Rong (Dragon) Bridge in Son Tra District.
Starting from 5 May, delightful performances of singing, dancing, and playing traditional Vietnamese musical instruments will be held every night at the same venue.
From 27 - 29 April, the city’s sky will be dotted with between 80 and 100 kites in different shapes, sizes and colours during the Kite-Flying Festival at the Pham Van Dong Beach.
Especially, kite-flying activities will take place from 9am - 10.30 am, and from 1.30pm - 5pm.
Art kite-flying performances will be between 3pm and 5pm daily, whilst a contest to decorate kites for children will be on 28 April from 4.30pm - 6pm.
From 7.45pm - 8.45pm on 28 April, there will be a trumpet band performance at the western end of the Rong (Dragon) Bridge, opposite the Museum of Cham Sculpture.
