Efforts to make DIFF a 'must-see' event in the city every summer
All details of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2019 which will take place in the city from 1 June to 6 July, plus various support events, were officially released at the Friday press conference jointly held by the municipal government and the Sun Group.

Themed ‘Nhung dong song ke chuyen’ (Stories by the Rivers), this year’s event will see the participation of 8 teams, namely Russia, Brazil, Belgium, Finland, Italy, UK, China, and Da Nang-Viet Nam.
The opening ceremony on 1 June will see the competition between Viet Nam and Russia. The two teams expect to thrill spectators with a great party of sound and light effects.
The main outdoor stage will look like a vivid picture reminiscent of the image of rivers, and modern visual effects which all will stir new emotions amongst the audience.
In particular, the stage of every single firework display night is to be breathed new life and creativity, and further awakened with vibrant and peculiar arts performances joined by a large number of domestic famous singers and dancers, especially such top pop stars as Hong Nhung, My Linh, Trong Tan and Tung Duong.
Besides, a wide range of support events will be organised on the sidelines of the festival.
In particular, impressive street carnivals of live music and dancing will take place from 6.00pm - 8.00pm every Sunday from 2 June to 7 July, along a section of Bach Dang, one of the most beautiful and busy streets in Da Nang, exactly, between its intersections with Tran Quoc Toan and Ly Tu Trong.
One of the highlights of the support events is definitely the first-ever national-level joint-performance flashmob show with the topic of ‘Youth Waves’.
The contest included 3 rounds (short-list, semi-final, final) to select the best 04 teams to participate in the Flashmob Finale at DIFF 2019 (happening 1 week before DIFF Finale night). The winner will perform on DIFF 2019 Finale night.
In addition, there will be a contest to widely publicise the DIFF 2019 for media agencies across the city, and an art programme entitled ‘Sunshine Dancing Festival’ at the Sun World Ba Na Hills from 31 May to 30 September with two performances every day.
This 4-month programme which is the largest and longest of its kind in Viet Nam will feature the participation of more than 200 international actors and artists.
Notably, many cultural and sports activities will be held along the both banks of the Han River, bringing locals and visitors unforgettable experiences and relaxing moments in the city, especially at weekends.
In his remarks at the press conference, Mr Ha Vy, Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Culture and Sports, noted DIFF has helped to build the brand name of fireworks city for Da Nang over the past decade, as well as to extend the stay period of visitors in the city, and in Viet Nam as a whole.
He affirmed DIFF has been emerging as a ‘must-see’ event for both domestic and foreign tourists every summer, thereby making Da Nang become one of the cities of fireworks in the world.
