SHB Da Nang suffered a 2-1 away loss to Nam Dinh at the Thien Truong Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Despite starting the brighter and creating several good chances in the opening exchanges, SHB DN’s players failed to find net for the away side in the first half.
Meanwhile, Dinh Van Truong opened the scoring for the hosts with a perfect penalty kick in the 40th minute.
This effort sparked Nam Dinh into life, and they went on the offensive looking to double their lead.
In the 50th minute, SHB’s striker Do Merlo levelled the score at 1-1 with a powerful header.
Unfortunately, coach Le Huynh Duc's irrational changes to his squad in the last minutes of the second half unintentionally created an opportunity for the home team to gain initiative in the midfield. Since then, Nam Dinh players continuously threatened SHB’s goalkeeper Nguyen Thanh Binh.
In the first minute of the second-half stoppage time, a corner kick by striker Patiyo found the net of their rivals, giving Nam Dinh a dramatic 2-1 win.
