A total of 4 celebrities in Da Nang are amongst the 391 recipients nationwide who were awarded the People’s Artist and Meritorious Artist titles by State President, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

Mr Huynh Van Hung, the Director of municipal Department of Culture and Sports, former Director of the Da Nang Radio-Television Station, won the People’s Artist title.

He was actively involved in producing many highly-appraised documentary films aired on national television channels, and he has won over 20 national-level awards.

Three other artistes, Nguyen Thi Thanh Tien, To Van Ky and Ho Duc Dung, all of whom now work for the city-based Nguyen Hien Dinh Tuong (classic drama) Theater, received the Meritorious Artist title.

Of the 391 honourees, 5 People’s Artist and 8 Meritorious Artist titles were bestowed posthumously to those who passed away. Other 79 People’s Artist and 299 Meritorious Artist titles were offered to nominees who have made great dedication to the country’s cultural development.
