SHB Da Nang suffered a 1-2 home loss to Ha Noi FC at the city-based Hoa Xuan Stadium on 16 August.

Fielding their key stars such as Quang Hai, Van Quyet and Hung Dung, Ha Noi easily took control of the game from the beginning.

The visitors' great efforts were paid off as Quang Hai and Kien Dinh scored two consecutive goals in 4 minutes from 27th to 31st minutes.

In the second half, Ha Noi players focused on defensive tactics in a bid to conserve their physical strength in preparation for the AFC Cup semi-final match which is slated to take place in the middle of next week. Meanwhile, SHB players made continuous and varied attacks to put pressure on their rivals.

In the first 5 minutes of the second half, striker Do Merlo narrowed the gap to 1-2 for the home team after latching on to an accurate pass from Vo Huy Toan.

In the 69th minute, a penalty kick was awarded to the hosts after Ha Noi’s defender Van Kien touched the ball with his hands in the penalty area. Unfortunately, Do Merlo was unable to convert successfully the penalty kick, missing a good opportunity to level the score.
