For instance, over the past two years, the Fine Arts Museum hosted arts exhibitions every month, including 6 international-level events.

Specifically mentioned is a recent exhibition of contemporary art entitled ‘Bridge’, featuring a total of 35 multimedia art works created by U.S. multimedia artist Mark Cooper along with overseas Vietnamese artist Vu Trong Thuan, along with a contemporary arts exhibition themed ‘Connection’ about arts works made by European artists who are living and working in Da Nang and Hoi An City.

In addition, there have been an exhibition about Colombian author of the ‘One Hundred Years of Solitude’ novel, and the 1st Da Nang International Fine Arts Exhibition.

These above-mentioned exhibitions have created the good opportunities for Da Nang to advertise its beautiful images to international friends.

Painter Virgilio Aviado from the Philippines said he was very impressed with the city’s airy space and the friendliness of local residents during his stay in the city.

Since 2014, the Da Nang Chamber Music has become an indispensable spiritual food for chamber music lovers, especially ex-pats who are working and living in the city. The event has attracted the participation of a number of famous domestic and foreign artistes.

In particular, the Da Nang Chamber Music 2019 held in July featured the performances by the Boulanger Trio from Germany. The trio comprised Karla Haltenwanger pianist, Birgit Erz violinist, and Ilona Kindt cellist. In recent years, the group has gained an excellent reputation in the world of chamber music.

The event thrilled the audience with an emotional performance of European music from the gentle melodies of Clara Schumann in Germany to the Slavic rhythms of Antonin Dvorak's music.

During their stay in the seaside city, the foreign artistes expressed their surprise at the love for chamber music by local people.

“I am really surprised at the polite and warm welcome given by the audience here” Karla Haltenwanger pianist said.

With regard to the preservation of the city's cultural heritage value, a number of unique cultural festivals have been held at the Museum of Da Nang. Included are the traditional Cultural Day of the Co Tu ethnic group, the ‘Cong Chieng’ (Gong) and folk songs festival of the Cor ethnic group, a ceremony for raising the Lunar New Year pole (‘Cay Neu’ in Vietnamese), and folk singing and dancing performances by the Xo Dang ethnic minority group in Quang Nam Province’s mountainous Nam Tra My District.

Director of the Museum Huynh Dinh Quoc Thien remarked through these exciting festivals, he hoped that the community would join efforts with the museum to preserve and promote the traditional cultural values of Vietnamese ethnic groups in the context of current global integration.
