The national-level historical and cultural relic site Phuoc Tra is located in Song Tra Commune, Hiep Duc District, the neighbouring province of Quang Nam Province. It was the revolutionary base of the 5th Military Region Party Committee and High Command during the 1973 – 1975 period.

This place witnessed Vietnamese revolutionary force’s numerous resounding battles during the past anti-American war, especially associated with the image of resilient revolutionary soldier Vo Chi Cong, the Secretary of the 5th Military Region Party Committee at that time.

At the Phuoc Tra revolutionary base, the 5th Military Region Party Committee and High Command laid out the plan for the 1975 Spring General Offensive and Uprisings in line with a resolution released by the Party Central Committee in January, 1975.
