Matches in the final round of Viet Nam’s top-tier V-League 2019 took place at stadiums across the country on Wednesday.

After the previous rounds, Ha Noi FC officially become V-league Champions 2019 with 53 points, whilst Ho Chi Minh City finish runner-up on 48 points. Therefore, the intention of the final day of the V-League 2019 was to identify the bronze medal-winning team, and the 2 bottom teams in the table.

Ha Noi FC suffered a 4-2 loss to Quang Ninh, having already secured the title. Quang Ninh sealed the win with goals in the 25th, 62nd, 73rd and 86th minutes. Ha Noi’s players narrowed the gap to 4-2 with the goals scored by strikers Ngan Van Dai and Pape Omar Faye. The win confirmed Quang Ninh's third place finish with 39 points.

Meanwhile, Thanh Hoa and Sanna Khanh Hoa were candidates for relegation battles.

Thanh Hoa and Sanna Khanh Hoa both finished on 25 points, but Thanh Hoa avoided relegation on goal difference.

Thanh Hoa managed a 1-1 draw away against Becamex Binh Duong to secure the point they needed, while Sanna Khanh Hoa were spanked 4-1 by Hoang Anh Gia Lai at the Pleiku Stadium.

After seven losses in a row, one point from their draw and Sanna Khanh Hoa’s loss was enough for Thanh Hoa to earn a spot in the play-off. They will play V.League 2 first runner-up Pho Hien FC this Saturday. The winner will play in V.League 1 while the losers will compete in V.League 2.
