Ao Dai show to make its debut in the city early next year
The Ao Dai (traditional long dress) Show, a traditional Vietnamese art and cultural performance, has been launched in Da Nang for local and foreign tourists after a successful four-year stint in Hue.
The show, called the Nguyen Dynasty Royal Show, will be organised every day at Ngu Hanh Son District’s culture house, No 1A Tran Van Dan from 7.45pm.
VK Star Joint Stock Company, the performance organiser, said the show, which will last for 60 minutes, features the story of the traditional Ao Dai over the past 300 years, and the recognition of the National Dress of Viet Nam from Nguyen Dynasty.
It said the show also recreate the scenery of the Imperial Palace of the Nguyen Dynasty; the 100-year history of ancient Ao Dai, traditional wedding costumes, school uniforms, a lotus dance, and beautiful collections of Ao Dai on stage.
The show includes audio guides in English, Korean, and Vietnamese.
In Hue, VK Star company offers two shows at 5.30pm and 8pm at 49A Le Loi Street, attracting 500 tourists each night.
The Ao Dai Show Da Nang will officially open from January 1st.
Da Nang hosted 8.7 million tourists, of which 3.5 million foreigners, in 2019.
Korean and Chinese tourists made up 50 per cent of the total foreign visitors.
Ao Dai show is the second regular art performance in Da Nang after Tuong (Classic Drama) was staged for tourists at Nguyen Hien Dinh Theatre.
