'Da Nang Voice 2019' proves its great attraction
The freshly-concluded Da Nang Voice 2019, which has been organised for the first time in the city, received high praise from the general public, hereby, creating a foundation for turning itself into an annual singing contest in the coming time.

Held from 15 September to 24 October, the Da Nang Voice 2019 contest attracted a total of 212 contestants nationwide.
Notably, in addition to a number of successful vocalists who made their marks at domestically renowned ‘arenas’ of music, the biennial Sao Mai (Morning Star) National Television Singing Contest for instance, the contest featured a lot of naturally beautiful voices. Only 15 outstanding contestants advanced to the final round which took place on Saturday at the Trung Vuong Theatre.
Trinh Son, a Ha Noi native, defeated his strong rivals to win the first prize which consists of 30 million VND in cash and the Trung Vuong Studio-offered gift worth 10 million VND.
The second prize of 20 million VND was awarded to Tran Ngoc Lam from the northern province of Thai Nguyen, whilst the third prize of 10 million VND went to Da Nang native Le Thi Phuong Ly.
Besides, 12 consolation prizes, worth 5 million VND each, were given out to contestants from other localities nationwide. Such sub-prizes as ‘The best voice for Da Nang-themed songs’ and ‘The contestant with the most impressive performance costume’, with each worth 5 million VND, were also announced.

Musician Tran Ai Nghia, a member of the Executive Committee of the Viet Nam Musicians’ Association, member of the singing contest’s judging board, said he was quite surprised as the event attracted many music lovers at different ages, from all walks of life nationwide. Domestic famous pop singer Dam Vinh Hung, the Head of the contest’s judging board also highly appreciated the good quality of the contestants.
In her remarks on the singing contest, Ms Nguyen Thi Hoi An, the Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Culture and Sports, cum Head of the Organising Committee, affirmed that the contest is of great significance in creating a new rendezvous for music lovers, and looking for ‘new faces’ for the city’s own performing arts activities, in tandem with widely publicising high-quality songs in praise of Da Nang.
Despite its first inception, the event captured much attention from the contestants from all over the country and received many compliments from local fans. This positive sign is considered an impressive first step heading towards creating an annual singing event in the coming time.
