The focus will be on preserving and promoting the national intangible cultural values of the Nam O fish sauce making village, and developing the village into an inviting place in the city.
The Nam O Village sets a target of producing an average of between 200,000 and 250,000 litres of fish sauce every year. The quality and designs of fish sauce products will be improved. The village's average per capita income will be 3-4 million VND per person per month by 2020, and 4.5-5 million VND per person per month by 2025.
Also, training courses on enhancing the management capacity and and business skills will be organised for members of the Association of the Nam O Fish Sauce Village, and fish sauce makers in the village.
Villagers are encouraged to build fishing vessels and conduct fishing activities in a bid to ensure enough raw materials for stable fishing sauce production.
In addition, special attention will be paid on fully tapping tourism potential of this place in combination with conserving heritage, advertising fishing village practices and products to domestic and foreign visitors, and facilitating local residents to tout for business from tourism activities, thereby improving the living conditions of villagers.
